I strive to generate competence for all family members, guiding individuals and families with compassion and common-sense wisdom.
With experience and training in a variety of methodologies, I have acquired highly effective strategies and a knowledge-based instinct to optimize learning. I draw on the most progressive information in the field and identify the strategies that best fit an individual or family. I am eager to incorporate the parents’ knowledge about their family and an individual’s ability to reflect on their own strengths and struggles.

I guide and motivate individuals and families to remediate the core deficits associated with a diagnosis by strengthening and nurturing relationships and building competence and confidence.

- If we don’t watch her constantly, she will get into mischief. This is extremely stressful.

Dr. Kathi Calouri, Ph.D., Licensed Clinical Psychologist
I am the founder and director of Achieve Psychology, LLC. I have been working with children with social learning disorders including Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) since 1982 in clinical and educational settings. I worked as a classroom teacher with the Columbia Regional Program for Autism in Portland, Oregon. I earned my M.A. and Ph.D. at UCLA where I supervised the Clinic for the Behavioral Treatment of Children under the direction of Dr. Ivar Lovaas, receiving my advanced training in Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA). My years of dedicated service have taught me the value of appropriate, intensive services to individuals and families.
I honed my expertise in the social-emotional development of children as the co-founder and Clinical Director of Project PACE, Inc (1992 – 2017). I continued working with compassion and common-sense wisdom at Play2Grow Behavioral Therapy (2017-2023). I utilize my experience to inspire individuals and families to achieve positive change.
My approach is well grounded in the principles of ABA and I incorporate
a delicate balance between child-directed interactions and adult-directed interactions. Using experience and compassion, I enjoy helping individuals and families achieve balance and flexibility in their lives.
